This piece is the result of pondering a question among friends- “What if God uses cigarettes & smoke breaks to get his kids quiet enough to hear his voice?” The church that I attend serves people in recovery & addiction, and they include a smoke break in the middle of every Sunday service. It is amazing to me how something that is seen as so disgusting by so many is actually where many (frequently overlooked) people are met by love.
I hope that when you see this piece, you are reminded that divine love longs to meet you wherever you are.
